birdie bookends

Just bought these super cute birdie bookends from Pottery Barn Kids for the baby's room!  With a bit of time and the correct materials, you can make these!  All you'll need is something heavy for the base (so the books stand at attention.....), cut the little birdies out of plywood or even some sort of foam, and cover them with some cute fabric!

It was a tough choice between the birdies and the owls, but with a pink theme for the bedroom the birdies won  : )

With adequate sewing skills (which I absolutely do not have), you can make these as well!

ethereal evolution

I am SO excited!!!  (But in the nerdy designer way that all you other designers out there would understand).  I don't know if I've been out of the loop for a while or what, but I just came upon a GREAT FIND.  I have big love for Sicis, one of the greatest tile companies on the planet earth.  Or so I thought!  Now appropriately named Sicis, The Art Factory, not only do they carry tile, but they also carry furniture, accessories, fabrics, and jewelry (soon to come)!  Their new furniture line is absolutely GORGEOUS.  I love it because it's so different and unique, and they have pieces I've never seen before.  The designs are very whimsical and some are even accented with their beautiful mosaic tiles.  The furniture pieces remind me of Las Vegas and have that Alice in Wonderland type feel, giving me the huge urge to design glamorous and ethereal spaces using their amazing works of art!!!

beach bummin'

I really don't think it's the onset of the warm weather............I have just always loved the beach theme.  Maybe because deep down inside I would absolutely love to go live beachside (I mean, who wouldn't????????).  The beach feel is so light and airy, crisp and fresh.  It reminds me of soft sand, clean linen, calming waves......  I think I need a vacation.

Introducing........Roberto Mantellassi!!!

A sneak peek at the new line that I am representing.....Roberto Mantellassi!  The Collection is a stunning new Italian line of bracelets, belts, handbags, and accessories handcrafted from exquisite leather and eel, python, and lizard skins.  The Collection was first proudly introduced in Italy and is now being distributed throughout Northern America!!!  Isn't the Collection just gorgeous!?!?!?  Although pictures don't do it nearly half the justice.  You really need to see these in person!

Stay tuned.............more to come!!!

baby on the brain

How cool is this nursery?  I just love the soft color palette and the mod design.  Some great design elements...the painted grid on the wall and the hanging ceiling panels.

here's to 2012...

I know, I know.  I SERIOUSLY fell off the bandwagon there peeps.  I apologize to all my loyal followers and readers out there.  But a girls gotta take some time for herself, ya know?  And HAPPY HOLIDAYS and a big HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of you!  New year, new things!  Happy 2012 : )  Soooooo....just to recap the last month or so...  Here's a couple events that contributed to my falling off the bandwagon:
1)  I just became the new rep for Roberto Mantellassi, a GORGEOUS Italian line of leather bracelets, belts and handbags.  I will post the goodies pronto, I promise!  I was hoping to give you a peek for the holidays, but time flew by like the wind!
2)  Of course, the holidays played a giant factor in getting sidetracked.  That is a great excuse for anyone...
3)  I got knocked up.  Yes!  I'm creating a little bambino as I blog!
4)  This blogging business is tough work!  It really is the equivilant of a full time job, no joke.  Except the bad thing is there's no compensation.  So really, it's like working for free.  (Unless you monetize your site which I feel that if I do I'll get wrapped up in some sort of scam or a giant virus will attack my computer and eat all my files.  Anyone have any insight on this whole monetizing thing???)  All you other blogsters out there can relate.  Don't believe me?  Try it!!!  So hence, I needed a little blogging break.

There you have it.  My 4 (main) excuses.  They're good ones though, right???  I really have more, so if you'd like to hear them please contact me...

So I'll leave you with this...here are some bright and cheery interiors for a bright and cheery New Year!!!!
